Mario Yanzón

Senior Principal

Mr. Mario Yanzón is the head of Bórmida&Yanzón Architects. The firm is based in Mendoza, Argentina, and it specializes in winery design and architecture.

Mr. Yanzón‘s professional experience combines his practice as an architect and landscape designer, together with his experience as a University Professor. For many years, he served as Full Professor of Landscape Design at the University of Mendoza, while attending his private practice.

From 1988 to date, his firm has designed 13 new wineries, 14 refurbishment and adaptation works in already existing wineries, and 9 architecture and landscape design projects. These works have been widely promoted in local and international media, and several projects have received awards for their design.

Mr. Yanzón is specially focused on landscape and functional design for large surface areas and large-scale master plans.

The wineries designed by Bórmida&Yanzón Architects fall within the framework of modern contextualism. They are characterized by the special way in which they relate to the landscape they belong to. This, together with the willingness to express each company's own concepts, has given rise to works with great identity that, despite being very different from each other, contribute to creating a unified brand image.
